HOUSTON (ICIS)--US acrylonitrile (ACN) exports for November were up by 13% year on year, according to data released by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Monday.
US November ACN exports totalled 54,493 tonnes compared with 48,403 tonnes a year ago.
The increase was primarily the result of greater volumes shipped to South Korea, China and India, according to the ITC.
The US does not typically import ACN.
Through November, 2012 exports of ACN amounted to 576,908 tonnes, an increase of 16% over the same 11-month period in 2011.
US producers of ACN include Ascend Performance Materials; Cornerstone Chemical and INEOS Nitriles.
Combined, those producers have an annual output capacity of 1,462,250 tonnes.
