HOUSTON (ICIS)--US butyl acetate (butac) exports in November jumped 32% year on year from increased shipments to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), South Africa and Canada, according to data released on Monday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
US butac exports totalled 5,344 tonnes in November, compared with 4,036 tonnes in the same month of 2011.
November shipments to the UAE totalled 1,000 tonnes, more than tripling 261 tonnes shipped there in the same month a year earlier.
Major US butac producers include Dow Chemical, Eastman Chemical and Oxea Group.
