Japan's ethylene production increases 4.9% in December 2012

TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan’s ethylene production rose by 4.9% month on month to 566,800 tonnes in December 2012, an official preliminary report from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) showed on Thursday.

This is an 8.1% increase from the same period a year earlier, based on the data.

None of Japan’s naphtha crackers were shut for scheduled maintenance in December or November 2012, or December 2011, according to the METI.
