SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Tiansheng Holding Group shut its 200,000 tonne/year polyester line at Shaoxing in Zhejiang province on 20 January because of negative margins, a company source said on Monday.

The major product of the line is semi-dull fully drawn yarn (FDY), the source said.

Tiansheng had already shut one of its three lines, with a capacity of 200,000 tonnes/year, in early January for maintenance, and these two lines will both restart after Lunar New Year, according to the source.

The third line, with a capacity of 400,000 tonnes/year, is running at full operating rate, the source added.
