Correction: In the ICIS news story headlined "China’s Guangzhou Petrochemical restarts BD after maintenance" dated 23 January 2013, please read in the first paragraph ... 30,000 tonne/year ... instead of ... 300,000 tonne/year .... A corrected story follows.

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Guangzhou Petrochemical, a subsidiary of Sinopec, achieved on-spec butadiene (BD) products at its 30,000 tonne/year unit in Guangdong province on Wednesday, days after the unit's restart on 20 January, a source close to the company said.

“We have on-spec production at the plant today [23 January],” the source said.

The unit was shut down on 12 January for maintenance and was originally planned to be brought on line on 22 January.

However, the restart was advanced by two days but the source gave no reason for that.

The company lost 900 tonnes of BD output while the plant was off line, the source added.
