TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan’s naphtha imports for ethylene production rose by 5% to 1.25m tonnes in December 2012 compared with the previous month, official data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) showed late on Tuesday.
The country’s total imports of naphtha for the petrochemical sector increased by 3.4% month on month to $1.20bn (€900m), according to METI.
The average price of naphtha was $960.80/tonne in December, a 0.8% decline from November, the data showed.
