SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Nan Ya Plastics will run its No 1 and No 2 monoethylene glycol (MEG) units at Mailiao at 70% of capacity until early March because of a technical issue, a company source said on Friday.
The company said a technical fault in a shared heater had resulted in lowering the operating rates to 70% from 90%.
“We will run the two units at reduced rates until we fix the problem,” the source said, addin that the company expected to resume normal operation at the two units by early March.
Nan Ya has informed its Chinese customers to reduce February supply because of the production hiccups.
