Pakistan's Lotte Petrochemical shuts PTA unit for maintenance

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Pakistan’s Lotte Petrochemical on 24 January shut its 500,000 tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) unit at Port Qasim for annual maintenance, a company source said on Friday.

The shutdown will last until 13 February this year, according to the source.

The company has sufficient material to cover customer requirements while the plant is shut the source said.

Lotte Petrochemical is the only PTA producer in Pakistan and mainly focusing on domestic sales.
