SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan's JX Nippon Oil and Energy on Friday nominated its benzene Asian Contract Price (ACP) for February at $1,470/tonne (€1,103/tonne), unchanged from January this year, a company source said.

The ACP is on a CFR (cost & freight) Asia basis.

The price level is too high considering the lack of spot discussions, according to market players.

Bids for spot second-half February loading were at $1,400/tonne FOB (free on board) Korea on Friday afternoon, they added.

($1 = €0.75)
