SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Tianjin Soda is keeping its 40,000 tonne/year polyacetal (POM) facility off line amid weak demand and Lunar New Year holidays, market sources said on Tuesday.

The plant was shut last week and no restart date has been fixed yet, a company source said but gave no other details.

The plant might restart when demand is better, possibly after Chinese New Year, market sources said.

China will be closed for the holiday on 9-15 February.

Other POM producers in Asia include Polyplastics, Mitsubishi Engineering Plastics and Ticona
