Huntsman Textile Effects starts reactive dye facility in Thailand

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Huntsman Textile Effects (HTE) started a new specialty synthesis unit in Mahachai, Thailand, to further strengthen its manufacturing capability and presence in the Asian textile market, the leading manufacturer of textile dyes and chemicals said on Tuesday.

The newly installed unit specializes in the production of Textile Effects' flagship reactive dyes, including those incorporating Huntsman's proprietary fluorotriazine (CF3) chemistries, the company said in a statement.

The new centre for the production of reactive dyes was upgraded recently at a cost of $12.5m bringing the total investment to $17.5m, it added.

The statement did not mention the capacity of the new unit.

Huntsman Textile Effects (HTE) is a division of Huntsman Corporation.
