SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Yeochun NCC (YNCC) has bought 50,000 tonnes of naphtha in the spot market for delivery to Yeosu in the first half of March, amid high operating rates at its crackers, traders said on Thursday.
The deals for the two cargoes were done at a premium of $22.00/tonne (€14.80/tonne) to Japan quotes cost & freight (C&F), they said.
YNCC’s three crackers at the site have a combined nameplate ethylene capacity of 1.9m tonnes/year.
The company had trimmed production at the crackers to 90% of capacity in December last year because of poor margins.
