HOUSTON (ICIS)--US fourth-quarter acrylonitrile (ACN) production totalled 639.545m lb (290,096 tonnes), a 13% increase from 566.973m lb one year earlier, data from the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) showed on Thursday.
However, ACN output in the fourth quarter decreased by 7.8% from 693.602m lb in the third quarter of 2012, AFPM said.
AFPM's quarterly data is based on voluntary reports.
US ACN producers include Ascend Performance Materials, Cornerstone Chemical and INEOS Nitriles.
