US Q4 butadiene output decreases year on year – AFPM

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US fourth-quarter butadiene (BD) production totalled 803.8m lb (364,600 tonnes), a 17% decrease from 967.2m lb one year earlier, data from the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) showed on Thursday.

BD output in the fourth quarter decreased by 8.7% from 880.1m lb in the third quarter of 2012, AFPM said.

US BD inventories in the fourth quarter stood at 145.4m lb, rising by 17% from 124.4m lb one year earlier and by 46% from 99.9m lb in the third quarter of the year.

AFPM's quarterly data is based on voluntary reports.

US BD producers include ExxonMobil, INEOS Olefins & Polymers, LyondellBasell, Sabina Petrochemicals, Shell and TPC Group.
