SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korean producer Hanwha Chemical plans to shut its phthalic anhydride (PA) plant and plasticizers unit at Ulsan in mid-March for its annual turnaround, a company source said on Friday.
The company operates an 80,000 tonne/year PA unit and an 80,000 tonne/year plasticizers facility that will be shut for a week, the source said.
“The plasticizers unit will be shut alongside with the PA plant,” he added.
Hanwha Chemical’s 80,000 tonne/year plasticizers facility is able to produce diotyl phthalate (DOP) and dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP).
PA is used in the production of DOP.
