MELBOURNE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Shiny Chemical Industrial plans to shut its butyl acetate (butac) plant at Kaohsiung over the Lunar New Year holiday, said a company official on Wednesday.
The producer plans to shut its 60,000 tonne/year normal butac/iso-butac/normal propyl acetate swing plant off line on 7-17 February to stem excess output, the official said.
There will be no plant maintenance during the scheduled shutdown, the official added.
The Lunar New Year in Taiwan falls on 9-17 February in 2013.
