Japan's ethylene production increases 1.9% in January

TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan’s ethylene production increased by 1.9% month on month to 577,700 tonnes in January, official preliminary report by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) showed on Wednesday.

This is a 5.5% rise from the same time a year earlier, according to the data.

None of the country’s naphtha crackers were shut for scheduled maintenance in January 2013, December 2012 or January 2012, the data showed.
