SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s LG Chem achieved on-spec production at its new bisphenol-A (BPA) plant in Daesan on Friday, a company source said.
The plant with a nameplate BPA capacity of 150,000 tonnes/year is currently running at 50%, the source said.
The unit started up on 13 February, along with an upstream phenol/acetone plant at the site.
In Yeosu, LG Chem operates two BPA units that have a combined capacity of 300,000 tonnes/year.
