SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Jiangmen Handsome Chemical Development is on schedule to start up its new 80,000 tonne/year butyl acrylate (butyl-A) plant located at Yixing, Jiangsu province, a company source said on Thursday.

The company plans to start commercial operations in end-March/early April, the source said.

“There is no change to the start-up date despite tightness in the feedstock n-butanol (NBA) market, as we have ample inventories,” the source added.

The producer currently operates ethyl acetate (etac) and butyl acetate (butac) plants in east and south China.

The plant at Taixing in Jiangsu province, east China, can produce 120,000 tonnes/year of etac and 60,000 tonnes/year of butac.

In southern Guangdong province, the company runs a 320,000 tonne/year etac/butac swing plant at Jiangmen and a 60,000 tonne/year butac plant at Huizhou.
