MOVES: PPG announces executive appointments, additional roles

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-headquartered coatings and specialty chemicals company PPG Industries on Thursday announced several executive appointments, effective immediately.

PPG Executive Vice President Michael McGarry will lead the company’s flat glass business, as well as architectural coatings in the Americas and Asia/Pacific division and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

He will also lead the EMEA region for information technology, environment, health and safety, as well as corporate quality functions.

PPG Executive Vice President Viktoras Sekmakas will lead the company’s fibre glass business, the Asia Pacific region and the purchasing and logistics function.

He will continue to lead the industrial coatings, packing coatings and protective and marine coatings businesses.

Jean-Marie Greindl, vice president of automotive OEM coatings in the EMEA region, has assumed additional responsibility as president of PPG EMEA.

Effective on 1 March, Bryan Iams, vice president of corporate communications and marketing, will assume additional responsibility for the company’s government and community affairs functions.

In addition, PPG Executive Vice President J. Rich Alexander will retire on 1 March, after serving with the company for 34 years.
