LONDON (ICIS)--Aditya Birla Chemicals on Thursday started up a new 145 tonne/day caustic soda plant in Renukoot, Uttar Pradesh, India, a company source said.
The caustic soda will be used for alumina production nearby. The source said that the new plant will not make the market long and even with another large plant coming online in about one month, the market will be balanced.
Aditya Birla Chemicals is planning to open a new, 180,000 tonne/year, state-of-the-art caustic soda plant in April in Gujarat province, India.
