LONDON (ICIS)--Average European daily chlorine production in February 2013 rose by 2.4% month on month, industry body Euro Chlor said on Tuesday.

Average daily chlorine production for the region – comprising the EU, Norway and Switzerland – stood at 27,230 tonnes, compared with 26,593 tonnes/day in January 2013.

Production during the month was 4% higher year on year, from 26,184 tonnes/day on average in February 2012.

Caustic soda stocks were 7.7% lower year on year, from 262,822 tonnes in February 2012.

Chlorine capacity utilisation stood at 78.7% in February, compared with 76.9% the previous month, and 75.9% in February 2012.
