Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics to run NBA plant at 100% in near term

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics Corp (FPC) will gradually ramp up  its production rate to full capacity at its 250,000 tonne/year n-butanol (NBA) plant at Mailiao in the near term, market sources said on Friday.

The plant is currently operating at about 90-95% capacity, market players said.

According to several market participants, FPC is expected to release fresh offers for April shipments in the following week.

The prices of NBA were kept unchanged on 8 March at $1,500-1,600/tonne CFR (cost & freight) NE (northeast) Asia, compared to the previous week, according to ICIS data.
