MEDELLIN, Colombia (ICIS)--Petrobras is working to normalise operations after an Argentinean court lifted a closure order on its Bahia Blanca refinery, the company said on Monday.
Petrobras is said to have begun the shutdown of the 31,000 bbl/day refinery in Argentina on Friday, 8 March.
The court ordered the closure of the refinery, which the Brazil-based energy producer has for sale, because of environmental problems and irregularities in the license, a source familiar with the situation said.
The court upheld the appeal made by the company last week, wherein it argued that the company focuses on compliance "with the requirements of the competent authorities, and operates under current environmental standards".
