HOUSTON (ICIS)--Honeywell has won another contract from Fujian Meide Petrochemical to provide its propane dehydrogenation (PDH) process for a second 660,000 tonne/year propylene project at ?xml:namespace>
The new unit is expected to start up in 2015.
Honeywell spokeswoman Krystal Hughes told ICIS the new project would have the same capacity and location as Fujian Meide’s earlier project, announced in 2011, for which Honeywell's UOP petrochemicals division also provided its Oleflex PDH process.
The latest deal is Honeywell’s 12th Oleflex project since the beginning of 2011.
In addition to technology licensing, Honeywell UOP will provide engineering design, catalysts, adsorbents, equipment, staff training and technical service for the project, the company said.

China's propylene consumption accounts for more than 15% of worldwide demand, and it is growing at about 5-6%/year according to recent market projections Honeywell cited.
