LONDON (ICIS)--INEOS Oxide’s propylene oxide (PO) facility in Cologne, Germany, will undergo maintenance work in mid-April, which will also limit output at its downstream monopropylene glycol (MPG) unit at the same site, a company source said on Thursday.
As part of the maintenance, the PO facility is expected to run at reduced output for a few weeks, which will then be proceeded by a complete shutdown at the PO unit, which is due to last for around one week.
During this PO maintenance period, MPG output will be restricted and while contracts will be covered, spot availability will be limited, according to the company source, who said they will be working from stocks.
The Cologne operations have nameplate capacities of 210,000 tonnes/year for PO and 120,000 tonnes/year for MPG, according to the company website.
