HOUSTON (ICIS)--The US April benzene contract dropped 33 cents/gal to settle at $4.36/gal ($1,305/tonne, €1,018/tonne) on Thursday, following weak demand, improved supply and weaker benzene prices overseas, according to trade sources.
Trade participants also cited the recent decline in US benzene spot prices during the month, as a determining factor in the direction of the April contract.
The decline was expected, and represented the third consecutive monthly drop for the US benzene contract.
