HOUSTON (ICIS)--US GDP growth for Q4 2012 has been revised upward to 0.4% in the government’s third and final analysis, the US Department of Commerce announced on Thursday.

The department on 30 January originally had said the economy had contracted by 0.1% but revised that number on 28 February to a growth of 0.1%.

The upward revisions were due to increases in personal consumption, nonresidential fixed investment and residential fixed investment, the department said.

But those were offset by decreases in private inventory investment, exports and government spending on all levels, the department said.
