SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Indonesia's Petral, the trading arm of state-controlled refining firm Pertamina, bought a total of 1.9m bbl of sweet crude via its first purchase tender for June arrival, a company source said on Monday.
Petral’s purchase comprised a 950,000 bbl cargo of Qua Iboe from Nigeria and a 950,000 bbl cargo of Azeri Light from Azerbaijan. Both of the cargoes are destined for Pertamina’s 348,000 bbl/day Cilicap refinery in Indonesia, the source said.
No decision has been made at the present time as to whether Petral will issue a second June arrival tender, the source added.
Previously, Petral bought 3.45m bbl of May arrival sweet crude via three tenders. The purchase comprised a 600,000 bbl cargo of Tengiz and a 950,000 bbl cargo of Azeri Light bought via the first tender. In the second tender Petral bought a 950,000 bbl cargo of Amenam, while in its third tender the Indonesian trader bought a 950,000 bbl cargo of Es Sharara.
