China’s Feb ’13 imports of nylon chips fall by 17.1% from Jan

BRISBANE (ICIS)--China’s nylon (polyamide) chip imports in February decreased by 17.1% from January, as it was a short working month because of the Lunar New Year holiday, market players said on Wednesday.

The country imported 42,779 tonnes of nylon chips in February, 8,838 tonnes lower month on month, according to data from China Customs.

Import prices in February averaged at $2,745/tonne (€2,141/tonne), representing a 0.1% decrease from the previous month, the data showed.

The Lunar New Year holiday in China fell on 9-15 February this year.
