SINGAPORE  (ICIS)--Taiwan Prosperity Chemical Corp (TPCC) is running its 100,000 tonne/year bisphenol A (BPA) plant at 60-70% because of weak demand, a source close to the company said on Friday.

The plant, which is located in Kaohsiung, was restarted in late March following a prolonged shutdown since 1 November 2012 because of unfavourable margins, the source said.

TPCC is also capping the run rate of its upstream phenol/acetone unit at the same site at 80% capacity because of prevailing weak market conditions, the source said.
