SINGAPORE (ICIS)--SKC Corp, the sole propylene oxide (PO) producer in South Korea, is ramping up production at its PO/styrene monomer (SM) plant that restarted on 30 March after a scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Friday.

The 175,000 tonne/year PO/SM plant was taken off line on 1 March.

SKC’s 130,000 tonne/year hydrogen oxide to propylene oxide (HPPO) plant, downstream 160,000 tonne/year polyether polyols and 100,000 tonne/year propylene glycol units in Ulsan were all being operated at optimal rates after resuming operations on 27 March after their annual turnarounds, the source added.
