HOUSTON (ICIS)--February 2013 US styrene exports were up from the same time a year ago while imports were lower, according to data made available on Monday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
February 2013 styrene exports were at 154,601 tonnes, up by 28,267 tonnes or 22% from 126,334 tonnes in February 2012. The top three destinations for US styrene in February were Mexico, Brazil and the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, February 2013 styrene imports were at 47,704 tonnes, down by 3,375 tonnes or 7% from 51,079 tonnes in February 2012.
Canada was the sole importer of styrene in February. The country has been the only importer of styrene so far in 2013.
Major US styrene producers include Americas Styrenics, Styrolution, LyondellBasell, Total and Westlake.
