DUBAI (ICIS)--Saudi Arabia-headquartered Savola Packaging will start up a 12,000 tonne/year LLDPE stretch film line at its Al-Jubail complex, said a company official on Tuesday.
“About 95% of the new capacity will be exported to Europe,” said Luigi Scagliotti, sales and marketing manager Europe of Savola Packaging.
He was speaking on the sidelines of the Gulf Petrochemical and Chemical Association (GPCA) Plastics 2013 conference in Dubai.
Savola has an existing 15,000 tonne/year line at the facility.
Scagliotti said Savola will expand its LLDPE stretch film capacity by another 30,000 tonnes/year between 2014 and 2015, bringing its total capacity to 57,000 tonnes/year.
The two-day conference ends on Tuesday.
