LONDON (ICIS)--Chemical production in recession-hit Spain fell by 16.9% year on year in February, the Spanish National Statistics Institute (INE) said on Wednesday.
Overall industrial output for the month fell 8.5%, although only by 6.5% on a calendar-adjusted basis, it added.
Other INE figures on February output in Spain – which has been in recession since the second half of 2011 – showed a 6.6% fall in rubber and plastic products, a 2.0% decline in textiles, a 14.8% slump in furniture and a 4.9% drop in motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers.
