HOUSTON (ICIS)--BDP International (BDP), a privately owned global logistics and transportation services company, has formed a joint venture with Colombian freight forwarder Interflex, BDP said on Wednesday.

Taking an equity position in Interflex will strengthen BDP’s position in Colombia, the company said.

The joint venture will operate as BDP International Colombia under its current management team led by Enrico Benedetti.

BDP, a US-based company headquartered in Philadelphia, serves nine of the world’s 10 largest chemical producers and many others through a global network of offices, joint ventures and affiliates.

BDP also serves the healthcare and medical devices, retail and consumer goods, project logistics and oil and gas sectors.

Interflex, headquartered in Cartagena, is an international freight forwarder providing domestic and global logistics services, including air, sea and inland transport, project cargo, warehousing and distribution, supply base/maritime support and customs brokerage.
