SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Jinzhou Petrochemical shut down its 30,000 tonne/year butadiene rubber (BR) plant at Jinzhou in Liaoning province on 9 April because of technical issues , a company source said late on Wednesday.
“The [BR] plant is going to be restarted in about a week,” the source added, but did not provide an exact date for the restart. Details on the technical issues were not disclosed.
The plant shutdown is not expected to affect the domestic supply and demand conditions, according to market players.
“The shutdown may have little impact on the market, as the capacity of the plant is quite small,” a market player said.
Jinzhou Petrochemical, a subsidiary of Chinese state-owned oil and gas giant PetroChina, is a major BR producer in northeast China.
