Japan's ethylene production rises 5.8% in March

TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan’s production of ethylene rose by 5.8% to 556,100 tonnes in March from the previous month, data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) showed on Thursday.

The total is an 18% increase from the same time a year earlier, according to the ministry.

None of the country’s naphtha crackers was shut for scheduled maintenance in March or February, while two crackers were shut for turnarounds in March 2012, the data showed.
