China’s Yunnan Yuntianhua Co has resumed production at its 60,000 tonne/year polyacetal (POM) plant in Chongqing on 13 April, a source close to the company said.

The company’s 30,000 tonne/year POM plant in Yunnan is currently running at 100% capacity, added the source.

POM is an engineering plastic used in precision parts that require strength and low friction and can withstand a wide range of temperatures. Its main applications are in the automotive and electrical sectors.
