SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Chinas Tianjin Bohai Chemical has shut its 170,000 tonne/year emulsion polyvinyl chloride (EPVC) unit in Tianjin on 17 April for about two days of maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.

The company was running the EPVC plant at full capacity before the shutdown, the source added.

The producer quoted EPVC prices at yuan (CNY) 9,900-10,300/tonne ($1,605-1,669/tonne) DEL (delivered), according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.

End-users cut their operating rates in response to weak demand resulting from poor orders, and EPVC prices are expected to fall, a market player said.
