Flint Hills Resources begins restart process at Texas cracker

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US chemical producer Flint Hills Resources has begun the restart process at its Port Arthur cracker in Texas, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), sources said on Thursday.

According to the filing, Flint Hills began the restart process on 17 April. The facility was shut down on 14 April because of an unexpected loss of electrical power.

The start-up process is estimated to be completed by 20 April, according to the filing.

The company has 621,000 tonnes/year of ethylene capacity at the site.
