SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical plans to shut its 250,000 tonne/year oxo-alcohols unit in Mizushima in end-May for annual turnaround, a company source said on Friday.
Maintenance for the unit is expected to last about 60 days, the source added.
The facility can produce around 150,000 tonnes/year of 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH) and 100,000 tonnes/year of n-butanol (NBA).
Mitsubishi Chemical is currently operating the oxo-alcohols unit at near-full capacity to build up its inventories ahead of the shutdown, the source said.
