TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan's imports of naphtha for ethylene production totalled 1.74m kilolitres in March, up by 9.4% month on month, preliminary data from the country’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) showed on Friday.
In terms of cost, naphtha imports for petrochemical production amounted to $1.19bn, representing a 13% increase from the previous month, the data indicated.
Naphtha import prices averaged yen (Y) 64,070/kilo liters or $990/tonne in March, up 6% from February, according to METI.
