SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Qilu Plasticizers plans to restart its 400,000 tonnes/year plasticizer unit at Zibo in Shandong province on 13 May, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.
The unit has been taken off line on 5 April for scheduled maintenance, the source added.
The restart is expected to push down dioctyl phthalate (DOP) prices further in the domestic market because of the large capacity of the unit, one trader said.
Domestic DOP prices in east China were assessed at yuan (CNY) 12,450/tonne ($2,015/tonne) EXWH (ex-warehouse) east China on 23 April, down by CNY35/tonne compared with CNY12,485/tonne on 19 April, according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.
China’s Shandong Qilu Plasticizers is a key plasticizer producer at Zibo in Shandong province.
