SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China Natural Gas plans to shut its 2m cubic metre/day liquefied natural gas (LNG)  plant at Ansai county in Shaanxi province for 20 days of maintenance on 21 May, a company said on Friday.

The maintenance shutdown is scheduled to coincide with the one-month annual turnaround at PetroChina Changqing Oilfield’s No 3 gas purification plant as gas supply will be suspended during its shutdown period, according to the source.

“We may ration commercial supplies in May considering the maintenance shutdown, and raise [our] prices by around yuan (CNY) 200/tonne ($32/tonne),” added the source.

Natural gas will be supplied to China Natural Gas’ LNG plant through the Jingbian-Xi’an natural gas pipeline after its restart, until the turnaround at the No 3 gas purification plant is completed, according to sources from Changqing Oilfield.
