SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Kingboard Chemical shut its phenol/acetone plant at Huizhou city in the southern Guangdong province for maintenance on 23 April, a source close to the company said on Friday.

The plant, which has a capacity of 120,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 80,000 tonnes/year of acetone, will remain off line for 15 days to undergo maintenance, the source said.

Its downstream 25,000 tonne/year bisphenol A (BPA) unit at the same site is currently running at 100% capacity, the source added.

Kingboard operates a second phenol/acetone plant at Yangzhou in Jiangsu province.
