SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan's JX Nippon Oil and Energy settled on Tuesday its May benzene Asian contract price (ACP) at $1,320/tonne, up by $18/tonne (€14/tonne) or 1.4% from April’s settlement, a company source said.

The company had nominated $1,360/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Asia for May benzene ACP.

“The higher settlement [for May] was in line with slightly firmer spot prices in April,” a trader said.

On 30 April, spot benzene prices were at $1,306/tonne FOB (free on board) Korea, up from $1,275/tonne FOB Korea in end-March, according to ICIS data.
