SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Yongsan Chemicals shut its 18,000 tonne/year maleic anhydride (MA) line in Ulsan on Thursday for scheduled maintenance, a company source said.

The unit’s maintenance will last about 50 days, the source sid.

The company’s other MA line at the site with a 20,000 tonne/year capacity will remain in operation during the shutdown of the smaller unit, the source said.

MA supply to long-term customers in the domestic and overseas markets will not be affected by the turnaround of the 18,000 tonne/year line, the source said.

Yongsan Chemicals’ two MA lines in Ulsan had undergone turnarounds in October 2012.
