SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shijiazhuang Shuanglian Chemical Industrial plans to shut its 500,000 tonnes/year soda ash plant in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, on 11 May for 10 days of maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.
The facility is currently operating at 80% of capacity, according to the source.
The maintenance will lead to a loss of 11,000-12,000 tonnes in May’s soda ash output. The company’s April output stood at 39,000 tonnes, the source added.
The producer offered light-grade soda ash at yuan (CNY) 1,180/tonne ($192/tonne）EXW (ex-works) on 9 May, up by CNY30/tonne from its previous offer on 6 May, the source said.
