HOUSTON (ICIS)--Severe weather affected operations at Valero’s 88,000 bbl/day Houston refinery, the company said on Friday.
The weather caused one of the sulphur recovery units (SRU) to trip offline, which could cause increased flaring as the process unit returned to normal.
“The temporary SRU shutdown caused additional upset conditions within the refinery’s fuel balance system,” according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
